intelligence devices that make breast cancer diagnosis are evolving

In the fight against breast cancer, scientists have won a significant victory thanks to artificial intelligence. A group of researchers at Google Health and the University of Imperial College London in the UK has developed artificial intelligence that can study mammography images of about 29 thousand women.

It was observed that the result of artificial intelligence, which had a great success in making a diagnosis, by examining mammograms was more accurate than that of a single doctor.

Although the algorithm did not know the history of the patient, the results were more accurate than the two doctors diagnosed together.

Net decrease in diagnostic error rates

Compared to a single radiologist, the rate of false positive diagnosis of artificial intelligence (abnormal detection of mammograms incorrectly) fell from 5.7 percent to 1.2 percent, while faulty negatives (overlooked by cancer) fell from 9.4 percent to 2.7 percent.
